Nigeria Professional Wrestling Federation is charged with the responsibility of promoting and developing sports of Professional Wrestling in Nigeria as well as supporting the Government in the area of human capacity development and Nation Building.
Our sports federation which was incorporated with Corporate affairs Commission and was officially inaugurated by the then President and Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces Federal Republic of Nigeria, Alhaji Shehu Usman Aliu Shagari (GCFR) on the 27th day of September 1981, have promoted and managed many Nigeria Wrestlers to become world, commonwealth and African Champions in their respective weight categories namely:
- Chief Mike Okpala, the first African Wrestler to win world title who hails from Neni in Aniocha L.G.A of Anambra State with the Ring Name: Power Mike of Africa (World Heavy Weight Champion)
- Mike Bamidele who hails from Ipetu Ijesha in Osun State (World Champion).
- HRM LAD Olorunfemi, who hails from Idera Kingdom in Kwara State with Ring Name Ladi The African Tiger (World Champion).
- Pastor John Eke Uti who hails from Ogbagu Ogume from Ukwuani in Ndokwa West L.G.A of Delta State popularly known with the Ring name as Power Uti of Nigeria World Heavy Champion.
- Dr. Osita Ofor from Umuneochi in Abia State with the Ring name the ultimate commander of Nigeria’s also (World Heavy Champion).
- Chief Ben Obiagu with Ring name (Ben Lion Heart) Commonwealth Champion. Just to mention but a few.
